International Brand Director
Human Factor is seeking, on behalf of a well-established pharmaceutical organization with an international presence, an International Brand Director.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the international commercial development and lifecycle management of a pharmaceutical brand across multiple geographies, with accountability for revenue growth, profitability, partner management, and the achievement of annual sales targets.
This is a high-visibility role within the International Commercial function, combining strategic brand management, international business development, commercial planning, and relationship management with external partners and customers.
The role requires a commercially driven professional with strong pharmaceutical experience, international exposure, and a proven ability to identify market opportunities, develop partnerships, and translate commercial strategy into measurable business results.
Key Responsibilities
• International brand management: lead the successful integration, sales development, partner management, and lifecycle management of the assigned pharmaceutical brand across multiple international markets.
• Commercial planning: develop short- and long-term financial plans, including annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and five-year commercial forecasts, while monitoring financial performance.
• Business development: analyze and prioritize international market opportunities and develop partnering and market expansion plans to maximize sales across existing and future portfolio opportunities.
• Sales targets: take accountability for annual international sales targets and ensure commercial activities are aligned with the organization's overall strategy.
• Market intelligence: maintain a strong understanding of international market trends, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and business opportunities to identify and act on growth opportunities.
• Partner management: build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective international partners, distributors, and other external stakeholders, while continuously assessing and optimizing partnerships.
• Commercial proposals: collaborate with the International Commercial leadership team to develop commercial proposals and partnership opportunities for new customers and markets.
• Customer management: maintain senior-level relationships with existing customers, oversee the resolution of commercial issues, and ensure effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
• Forecasting & performance: oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and monitor performance against agreed targets.
• Negotiations: review and approve commercial proposals, support key negotiations, and provide direction to the team to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Tenders: coordinate participation in international tenders in line with the company's commercial strategy and targets.
• Commercial activities: oversee business review meetings, sales meetings, training sessions, symposia, and other customer-facing commercial activities.
• Team leadership: provide direction and support to team members, promote continuous learning and professional development, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
• Reporting: ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and communication of commercial performance, market developments, and business opportunities.
Requirements
University degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, or a related field
MBA or other postgraduate qualification will be considered a strong advantage
At least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing management, preferably with international brands
Proven experience in international business development, partner management, and commercial relationships
Demonstrated track record in out-licensing, partnering, or other international commercialization activities
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical markets and international commercial dynamics
Proven ability to analyze market data, identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and make sound commercial recommendations
Strong commercial, negotiation, and business development skills
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Outstanding communication and analytical skills
Excellent command of English
Excellent MS Office and overall computer literacy
