Head of Accounting & Tax
Lead our Greek subsidiary's accounting and tax function: mentor a local team, ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance, partner with the CFO, and drive accuracy and strategic value.
Human Factor is seeking, on behalf of a client, a leading multinational company with a complex reporting structure, an experienced Head of Accounting & Tax.
About the role
The selected professional will drive & oversee all statutory and fiscal obligations of the Greek subsidiary. As a strategic partner to the CFO, he/she will manage a local team, ensure full regulatory compliance, and drive financial value across a leading multinational company.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop the local accounting team for efficient delivery of all statutory activities.
Set individual objectives and drive a culture of accuracy, ownership and continuous improvement.
Oversee the preparation and timely filing of financial statements under Greek GAAP (ELP) and IFRS.
Ensure all mandatory submissions to GEMH, the Ministry of Finance, and other authorities are accurate and on time.
Monitor changes in tax and accounting legislation and ensure prompt adaptation.
Prepare and submit Corporate Income Tax returns (E5), VAT periodic and annual declarations, withholding tax and other indirect taxes.
Manage transfer pricing documentation in coordination with the Group and external advisors.
Represent the company to the local authorities.
Responsible for accurate and timely submission of local financial statements and all other statutory filings, including but not limited to Corporate income tax return, VAT reports, statistics report, electronic data reporting to tax authorities (MyData), etc.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing analysis to support strategic decisions.
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants and banking partners.
Participate in corporate projects involving restructurings, mergers or business expansion, mentor and develop the local accounting team for efficient delivery of all statutory activities.
Required Qualifications
10 years in accounting & tax roles
At least 3 years in a managerial position
Tax License A
Experience in a multinational environment is required
Experience in complex multinational structures is a plus
Strong leadership and team development
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Excellent communicator at C-level
Fluent English
Strong knowledge of Greek tax law (KFD, VAT, KEDE)
ERP proficiency: SAP, Oracle or equivalent
