Technical Manager
Join a leading food producer as Technical Manager: own multi-site maintenance, CAPEX projects, and HSE leadership to ensure safe, reliable operations.
Human Factor is seeking a Technical Manager for our client, a leading food manufacturing company.
The suitable candidate will take full ownership of the seamless operation of all mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure across the manufacturing sites. This is a senior cross-functional role that combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic project oversight, requiring close collaboration with the COO, Plant Manager, and dedicated engineering and safety teams.
The position carries dual accountability: acting as the primary technical authority for the PPO plant (maintenance, new projects, infrastructure upgrades) and as the company-wide lead for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), ensuring full regulatory compliance (European & International) and the promotion of a strong safety culture across the facilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical & Maintenance Management
Organise, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and building equipment across production facilities.
Ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operation of all production processes and supporting infrastructure.
Diagnose equipment failures and coordinate swift, effective corrective actions to minimise downtime.
Design and oversee the implementation of new technical projects including installations, equipment upgrades, and facility expansions.
Evaluate technical solutions and improvement proposals for equipment and infrastructure, recommending optimal approaches.
Manage external contractors, service providers, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Monitor maintenance and project costs, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and identifying savings opportunities.
Ensure full compliance with applicable health & safety regulations, environmental legislation, and internal procedures.
2. Project Coordination (CAPEX)
Coordinate and monitor priority CAPEX projects across sites (including PJO & Tsabassis plants) in alignment with the COO-approved investment plan.
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and execution quality, with direct supervision of the Project Engineer.
Provide regular status reporting to senior leadership on project milestones, risks, and outcomes.
3. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Define and oversee the company-wide HSE strategy, in full compliance with national legislation and international standards.
Ensure the effective functioning of the HSE Management System across all company facilities.
Monitor HSE performance through defined KPIs and report findings and progress to senior management.
Lead the management of serious incidents, coordinating with relevant authorities as required.
Champion a proactive culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility at all organisational levels.
