Key Account Manager - FMCG

Human Factor is seeking a Key Account Manager. The selected professional will manage strategic accounts within the organised trade channel, ensuring strong commercial performance, driving growth opportunities, and strengthening long-term partnerships with key retail customers. This role combines commercial strategy, negotiation, and operational excellence in a dynamic and fast-paced market environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial plans with key accounts to achieve sales, profit, and market share objectives
- Maintain strong relationships with buyers and category managers within organised trade
- Coordinate annual negotiations, including pricing, trade terms, and promotional agreements
- Monitor account performance, analyse sales data, and prepare periodic reports and forecasts
- Ensure the successful execution of promotional activities, merchandising standards, and in-store initiatives
- Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to align strategies and ensure operational effectiveness
- Identify growth opportunities, category trends, and competitive insights to support strategic decisions
- Track budgets, rebates, and trade investments to optimize ROI
- Resolve operational issues related to orders, deliveries, and product availability
- Prepare regular business reviews and presentations for internal and client stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in key account management or commercial roles in the food or FMCG sector
- Proven track record in managing organised trade accounts
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Analytical mindset with experience in sales reporting, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives and work in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism, ownership, and customer orientation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/sales analysis tools
- Experience with category management and trade marketing is considered a strong plus
